ECEL Hockey is very proud to announce that the ECEL All Star Game will host a fundraiser for United Heroes League (formerly Defending The Blue Line).  Founded in the spring of 2009, United Heroes League is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that helps military families with the high costs of hockey and helps ensure that children of military members are afforded every opportunity to participate in the great sport.

Its founder, Shane Hudella, retired from the Army at the rank of 1SG (First Sergeant) and uses his 24 years of military experience and leadership to run the organization. In lieu of a specific admission fee to the All-Star Games, patrons are asked to make a financial donation to UHL. United Heroes League operates at a 90% giving ratio, ensuring every available penny of your gift supports military kids while their parents our serving our country.  There will be donation receptacles set up at the entrance to the Bright Hockey Center at Harvard.   The respective 16U and 18U teams will be named after NHL players who have made significant contributions to the organization with a special guest (TBA) puck drop before the first game.

"We at ECEL are very grateful for the service that Shane and the United Heroes League has done, not only to the game of hockey, but to the United States," ECEL President Peter Alden stated. "It is very humbling to be working with the wonderful people at the United Heroes League..  It is an honor to help out the people literally defending Our Country in any way we can, and on behalf of the ECEL Hockey Staff, we are extremely grateful for that."

Founded in 2013, the East Coast Elite League is a five-weekend showcase series that will provide maximum exposure for its member organizations and their players, by playing in top venues, in ideal scouting locations. Spread across the U16 and U18 divisions and represented by several of the top hockey organizations across the country, the ECEL is the premier showcase series in the United States, unmatched in its format and exposure opportunities.
