The Boston Advantage 16U Team dominated the East Coast Elite League during the regular season. The Advantage won every game up until their last of the season when they fell 2-1, in overtime, to Team Maryland who finished the season 11-1.

Going into playoffs, Boston Advantage finished in fourth place, putting them in good position to make a run to the Championship.  They started out playoffs with a convincing 6-0 win over the Boston Shamrocks Hockey Academy.  Zach Brissette was a big contributor with 3 points (2G, 1 A).

Advantage hit a speed bump when they came across the Elite Hockey Program in their next game. After both teams were held scoreless in the first 25 minutes of the game, Elite jumped out to a lead early in the second half.  Boston Advantage answered just a few minutes later with a power play goal by Ry Dukes.  Three minutes later Keitaro Yasuda put home a power play goal of his own. Boston Advantage could just not find their offense in this game and went on to lose 3-1.

The next two games, Advantage came out on top. After beating the New Hampshire Monarchs 6-2, Boston made the playoffs as the third overall seed. They had to face the second seed New York Aviators who had been one of the strongest competitors in the league all year.  Boston Advantage went on to win 4-0. They would go on to face The Hill Academy.

Hill finished the regular season in third place.  They were the number one seed going into the semi finals on Sunday and have also won the 16U Division Championship the past two years.  Needless to say, it was not going to be an easy game to win for either team.

The Hill Academy jumped out to an early lead five minutes into the game.  Hill controlled the first ten minutes of the game.  With 14 minutes left in the first half, Boston Advantage got on the scoreboard with a goal from Zack Brissette. Just 30 seconds later, Hill was stunned when Brissette and the Advantage struck again to take the lead. Both teams didn’t let up. It was a fast pace, hard-hitting, competitive game. The Hill Academy made a push with 2 minutes left in the game to come within one point. The Boston Advantage really showed that they wanted it more.  In the last few minutes the Advantage put their bodies on the line and fought until the last second to hold off the end of the game surge by Hill.  It was a great ending to a great season. Congratulations to The Boston Advantage 16U Team for winning the East Coast Elite League Championships
