Guilford, Conn.,

There is no doubt that the East Coast Elite League is becoming one of the best U16 & U18 leagues on the East Coast. We have seen over 60 scouts from NCAA DI, NCAA DIII, NHL and Juniors walk into our rinks this season. This provides our players with an opportunity to gain exposure and further their careers, especially at the college level. This opportunity was taken advantage of in full by Harrison Rees of The Hill Academy, as he has committed to play college hockey at the University of Connecticut. UConn is a member of the Hockey East Conference in Division I.

"Harrison is a great student-athlete both on and off the ice. He is highly skilled with a very high compete level. He possesses an exemplary work ethic in games, practices and in his training. Congratulations to Harrison on your very well deserved commitment to UConn. We are also thankful to the ECEL which has provided great NCAA exposure for our entire program. We look forward to continuing our work together to grow our program and the league" said Doug Orr, Assistant Hockey Director of The Hill Academy.

When asked to speak about his commitment, Harrison had this to say: "I chose UConn because I had a really good connection with all of the coaches. They all treated me well when I was down there on the visit. Also, the campus and facilities are top notch and I fell in love with it. It's not too big like a Big 10 school, but it is not small either. The ECEL experience has been great. The location of the tournaments are perfect to get Hockey East scouts, and the All Star Game was a great experience."

On behalf of the entire East Coast Elite League we would like to congratulate Harrison & The Hill Academy on the commitment. We wish Harrison the best of luck at the University of Connecticut!
