Team Maryland 18/16

Team Maryland had a great first season as an organization in the East Coast Elite League, and will look to build in their sophomore season.  One word can describe the Team Maryland 16U 2016-17 ECEL season: Dominant. A team that was comprised of many  underagers for the level, TM 16U’s went 11-1 in the regular season, scoring 49 goals while allowing only 22.  The team was able have a Division 1 commitment (Connor Tait, Quinnipiac Univ., ECAC) while also making a deep run in the playoffs.

TM 18U is looking to build on a solid season with strong returning core of players while also having many of the graduating 16U players move up the latter.  “Our goal with both of our teams is the same as it has always been,” 18U and 16U Head Coach Chris Ceransky stated.” “We want be a team that enjoys the journey.  If we can have fun, work hard, and try to be a model for respect in the game the team will do just fine in the win column.  For us, wins are a byproduct, not a goal.  We are excited for our second year of competition in the ECEL and can’t wait to see an already deep talent pool get even better.”

Additionally, Team Maryland will be bringing their 15U team to ECEL events to compete in the 16U division. This year, all 15U teams will consist of players of the 2002 Birthyear.  Lead by former 16U coach Mark Fransen, TM will certainly be able to make some noise in ECEL.
