Cy Leclerc Commits to University of New Hampshire!

Guilford, Conn., - The third player from the ECEL, in the last week has committed to University of New Hampshire (UNH) as Cy Leclerc of the Seacoast Spartans has decided to stay home and be a Wildcat.

The New Hampshire native had a very impressive ECEL season for the Spartans. In 17 games last season, he put up 43 points which is over 2.5 points a game. "We are really excited to see Cy commit to UNH, he has dominated our league, and look forward to seeing what the future holds for this talented player," said Commissioner of the ECEL Peter Alden. 

The Seacoast Spartans have been pumping out talent that has played at the Division 1 level. He will be the 25th alum of the program to play Division 1 hockey. Alums of the program include Two-time Stanley Cup Champion Brian Dumoulin, Calder Cup winner Freddy Meyer and Brandon Rogers among others that have gone and played at Division 1 programs. 

Cy Leclerc is not the only talented player in his family. His younger brother Chase is a very talented player and played along Cy for the Spartans in the ECEL. Chase was second in scoring and had 40 points in 17 games as a 15-year-old at the U16 level last season for the Spartans. 

Founded in 2013, the East Coast Elite League is a four-weekend showcase series that will provide maximum exposure for its member organizations and their players, by playing in top venues, in ideal scouting locations. Spread across the U15, U16, and U18 divisions and represented by several of the top hockey organizations across the country, the ECEL is the premier showcase series in the United States, unmatched in its format and exposure opportunities.
