Texas Warriors U16 & U18 Teams Join ECEL for the 2019-2020 Season

April 5, 2019

Guilford, Conn. - The Texas Warriors U16-Warriors & U18-Warriors teams have been accepted into the East Coast Elite League (ECEL) for the upcoming season.  The Texas Warriors will be under the direction of Warriors director, Kevin Smith.

The Warriors organization is located in Dallas, TX formed by members of the former Allen Americans Youth Hockey Association and the Dallas Oilers organization. The Texas Warriors are committed in becoming the premier hockey organization in the region with championship level teams.

“It's exciting. We want a top level team from Texas.  It is a hockey-hungry market, there is no denying the amount of high level players that come from Texas.   It's great for the league and I look forward to working with Kevin Smith.” Added ECEL President Peter Alden

Head Coach, Kevin Smith, had this to say, “The U16-Warriors have made significant progress over the past few years and have established the program as a national contender. We expect to have similar success with our U18-Warriors program. Our new model puts our players in 4-5 events that are highly scouted by NCAA college hockey and the top junior leagues throughout North America. The new model not only places our players in these high exposure events, but also gives our players competition against some of the top Tier 1 programs in the US and Canada

All ECEL events are located on the east coast in top scouting venues like Boston, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. Over 50% of all NCAA D1 and D3 programs are located in this part of the country. The league had three NCAA D1 commitments in just this past week.
