The East Coast Elite League is proud to announce that Alex Gagne has been selected to represent the United States at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Breclav, Czech Republic, and Piestany, Slovakia this August! Alex competed in the ECEL the past two seasons and we are excited to see him compete on the world stage!

Slated to attend Tabor Academy in the fall, Gagne recently committed to play for the University of New Hampshire (NCAA I) after a phenomenal campaign playing for the New Hampshire Avalanche. Boasting the play style of an offensive defenseman, he will be a crucial member to Team USA this coming August.

The United States Hlinka Gretzky Cup team is selected each year after the conclusion of the all-star game at the Select 17 USA Hockey National Player Development Camp. The all-star game in itself is comprised of the top 40 players at the camp, while the Hlinka Gretzky Cup team is made up of the best 22 players from that game. Coaches from USA Hockey and beyond selected this team with the hopes of taking home a victory in the upcoming tournament.

The East Coast Elite League once again congratulates Alex on this accomplishment, and we cannot wait to see what he accomplishes in the coming years!
