Guilford, Conn., - The East Coast Elite League (ECEL), and the Board of Directors are proud to announce the addition of the New York Ramapo Saints out of Viola, NY for the upcoming 2020-2021 season.

NY Saints President, Joe Brooks added, "We take great pride in the alliances that we have with the most competitive leagues around and we are extremely proud to have the opportunity to offer our Ramapo Saints Tier I players the competition and exposure that the ECEL can provide."

The New York Saints will be the first member of the ECEL, that will come from the very strategic market that is the state of New York.  ECEL President, Peter Alden is very excited to expand into this very fruitful market. “I’m very excited that we are expanding into the NY market with the addition of the New York Saints,” said Alden. “We have had teams from NY, come and compete in our league, by a weekend by weekend basis. But, we haven’t had a full member come from the Empire State. The board of directors and I are very excited about the addition of this great organization to our league.”

The Saints will join our league through four age groups for this upcoming season at the 18U, 16U, 15U, and the newly created 14U divisions. It was another reason as to why they were an attractive match for the league.  “The fact that they can bring four teams across all four divisions, to the ECEL, is huge for us as an league and it will only add more depth to the levels,” explained Alden.

This past season the New York Saints added a lot of banners up at their home rink. The 05’s of the Saints won the prestigious CCM World Invite Tournament in Boston, and the NY Saints 15U group won the AYHL 15U Pure Elite Championship this past weekend. Will they add more banners as members next season in the ECEL? Stay tuned next season to find out.
