Guilford, Conn., - The East Coast Elite League (ECEL) and its Board of Directors are excited to announce that the league has accepted Clearwater Prep Academy into the ECEL for the upcoming 2020 season.

Clearwater Prep is a Prep Academy that is from the sunshine state in Clearwater, Florida. ECEL President, Peter Alden is very excited to add Clearwater Prep to the ECEL. “As a league, it is great to add a strong Academy such as Clearwater Prep,” said Alden. “We are thrilled to be taking another huge step in a great market and Director, Adam Bennett has a great reputation. We are all anxious for the ECEL season to arrive and for the return of more great midget hockey."

The Prep Academy is lead by a very good staff that has experience at the professional, junior, and college levels. It all starts with Head Coach Adam Bennett, who was selected sixth overall in the 1989 NHL Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks, played games in the NHL, and was a captain in the OHL for the Sudbury Wolves. Meanwhile, assistant coach Myles Harvey played in the AHL, ECHL, Norway, and at Providence College, where he served as a captain both his junior and senior year.

Head Coach Adam Bennett is very excited about the upcoming season in the ECEL. “ We are thrilled to join the ECEL,” explained Bennett. “Joining the ECEL will allow our players to play against elite competition and gain maximum exposure for our players.”
