ECEL Announces 2020-2021 Events

Guilford, Conn,. - The East Coast Elite League is excited to start the 2020-21 season opening with the ECEL Fall Classic November 27-30, 2020 in Northford, Hamden & Newington, CT.

The East Coast Elite League’s Showcase Series is designed to provide top competition and exposure for the elite teams, and organizations, throughout the country. The League’s members will compete in four weekend showcases, culminating with league playoffs in April 2021.

This seasons events will feature over 40 teams playing across four different age groups and two different divisions at the 18U, 16U, 15U and 14U levels. “During these unprecedented times, it is great to see our teams thriving and coming together for the 2020-2021 ECEL season. We’re excited to see everyone at our first event in November.” said ECEL Commissioner Peter Alden. 

Showcase Dates & Locations:

Fall Showcase | November 27-30, 2020

Winter Showcase | December 26-29, 2020

Spring Showcase | March 19-22, 2021

Playoffs | April 9-12, 2021

All showcase will take place in Northford, Hamden & Newington, CT

As we continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation as it relates to hockey, we have reviewed the USA Hockey-issued COVID-19 guidelines, guidelines issued by the CDC and the Connecticut State directives

As it stands currently, the states of Connecticut and New Hampshire are the only states in the North East that are allowed 5 on 5 sanctioned USA Hockey events with 5 on 5 full check, with limited spectators abiding by COVID-19 precautions.

Founded in 2013, the East Coast Elite League is a five-weekend showcase series that will provide maximum exposure for its member organizations and their players, by playing in top venues, in ideal scouting locations. Spread across the U14, U16 and U18 divisions and represented by several of the top hockey organizations across the country, the ECEL is the premier showcase series in the United States, unmatched in its format and exposure opportunities.

- Skaters are allowed to enter the building 15 minutes prior to ice time, through the front door.
- Everyone's temperature will be taken prior to entering the building - including players, adults, and  staff.  Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater will not be allowed into the building.
- Do NOT come if you feel ill. 
- Masks must be worn by EVERYONE including players - fully covering the mouth and nose prior to entering and exiting the building.  Masks should be worn into, and while in, locker rooms. 
- Must maintain 6ft distance between each other, including on benches.
- Skaters must exit 10 minutes after ice time through the back doors of the arena. (See posted signs).
- No parents are allowed in rink & building EXCEPT for parents of SQUIRTS & YOUNGER.  For Squirts and younger, 1 guardian per child is allowed in rink & building.
- NO SHARING OF WATER BOTTLES.  Please bring your own.
- No congregating inside or outside of the building. 
- Must follow traffic arrows on lobby floor and posted signage. 
- Skaters will be assigned to locker rooms upon entry - doors will be propped open. Please limit time in locker rooms.  Arrive dressed if possible. 
- Must sign waiver.
