ECEL Welcomes New England Wolves for the 2021-2022 Season!

May 21, 2021, Guilford, Conn.,- The East Coast Elite League (ECEL) and its Board of Directors are happy to announce that the league will welcome the New England Wolves into the ECEL starting with the 2021-2022 season.

East Coast Elite League President Peter Alden is happy to welcome the Wolves into the ECEL family.  “We are excited to welcome the Wolves into the ECEL in the Fall,” said Alden. “When we look to add teams into the league, we look to add programs that can help make the league better and more competitive for the rest of our members already in the league. When we looked at the Wolves, they checked the boxes for membership. I expect them to come in and help create a more balanced league.”

Tim Kunes, the Director of Player Development for the New England Wolves, states: “We joined the ECEL because of the great reputation of the league and wanted our teams a chance to play against high-level competition. I think our youth teams are generally a hard-working group of kids. We want all our teams to play a up-tempo, skillful type of hockey combined with the type of effort needed to be successful.”

The New England Wolves will join the ECEL across three division levels U18 Full, U16 Tier 1, and U15 divisions for next season. The Wolves are a youth program that only started playing two years ago in the 2019-2020 season. To go along with youth teams, they also have a junior team that plays in the Eastern Hockey League and have been a part of the EHL since the 2014-2015 season.

We are excited about welcoming the Wolves into the ECEL for the upcoming season. We look forward to seeing what the Wolves can do in our league starting next season. To find out more about the Wolves and the rest of their organization, click here
