The East Coast Elite League (ECEL) has announced that Team Maryland has been accepted as new member of the ECEL 18U and 16U Divisions for the 2016-17 season.

Team Maryland has been very successful as of late producing quality teams at all levels. This addition adds depth to the ECEL line-up of teams for the 2016-17 season. The current membership stands at 10 different organizations and 19 teams.

“We are very glad to have Team Maryland in our league for the upcoming season.  This program brings a mix of Southern and New England hockey to the table.  With the proven success of Team Maryland in the Atlantic Youth Hockey League (AYHL) this program is one that we are very excited about,” said Program Director, Peter Alden.

The Team Maryland organization, which is located just outside of Rockville, Maryland, has a great following of talented hockey players.  Along with the 18U and 16U Midget Tier I teams that will compete in the ECEL, Team Maryland has a very strong youth program that competes in the AYHL.  The exposure the ECEL provides for teams in the hotbed of New England hockey is unmatched and is something we are glad to pass on to Team Maryland.
