The East Coast Elite League is proud to announce its first NCAA D1 commitment of the 2016-17 season!  ‘’99 Defenseman Liam Dennison of The Hill Academy had verbally committed to attend Merrimack College.  Liam will begin his colligate career in either 2018 or 2019.

A native of Manotick, Ontario, Dennison appeared in 10 games for the Hill Academy’s ECEL U16 team this season, as well as playing for their midget team. Prior to joining Hill Academy, he played one season for the Don Mills Flyers Minor Midget team, a high-end team playing out of the GTMMHL. Dennison appeared in 56 games for the Flyers last season, scoring seven goals and adding 16 assists.

Dennison was drafted in the 14th round of the OHL Priority Selection draft last summer. The Kemptville 73’s own his rights in the CCHL.

Liam took part in the 2015 OHL Development Combine last March in Oshawa and was one of just 32 defensemen invited; he also took part in training camp with the London Knights in the OHL. College-bound players are allowed to take part in training camps with major junior teams as long as they pay their own way after the first 48 hours they’re in camp, and don’t appear in any games.

Congratulations to Liam and his family!
