East Coast Elite League teams have successful weekend at Beantown Fall Classic

Guilford, Conn.-- The East Coast Elite League held its second showcase of the 2017-18 season in conjunct with the nationally recognized  Beantown Fall Classic.  ECEL teams traveled to the New England Sports center in Marlborough , MA to play three league games before moving on to crossovers and playing against teams outside of the league that were playing at Beantown.  The event drew close to 200 NHL/NCAA/USHL/NAHL coaches and scouts to watch some of the top competition in North America.

At the 18U level, Boston Advantage, Elite Hockey and Team Maryland all went 3-0 on the weekend.  Leading scorers from the weekend were Matt Gagnon from the New Hampshire Monarchs who had 11 points (7g, 4a), Alberto Pison from Newbridge who had 10 points (5g,5a),  John Billingsley of Team Marlyand with 8 points (4g,4a) and Halen Cookston from Elite Hockey who had 7 points (3g,4a).

At 16U, Newbridge 16U and Boston Advantage 15U both went undefeated in ECEL games.  Top performers were Cole Kimball of Hill Academy and Conner Murray of NH Avalanche who both tallied six points over three games.

Teams that advanced through crossovers at 18U level were both Team Maryland and Elite Hockey who made it to the quarterfinals before losing to Chicago Fury and New Hampshire Monarchs, respectively. The Boston Advantage 15U made it to the quarters as well before bowing out to Selects Academy 15U.

ECEL is back in action next month with is annual All Star Game Weekend on December 8-10.  Last year, the ECEL held its All Star Game at the Bright-Landry Center on the campus of Harvard University. This year, on Friday December 8, top performers from around the league will suit up at Ingalls Rink at Yale University to participate in the 2017 ECEL All Star Game.
