“I'm really excited to commit to Colorado College,” commented Dom, “It was great to meet the coaches at all of the schools I visited at but in the end, I felt that CC was the best fit for me as a student and an athlete. The NCHC is a very challenging conference, there are no easy games and I like a challenge. The coaches were just great and they are leading the team to be a solid NCAA contender and I look forward to being a part of it.”

The NCHC is thought of as one of if not the top conference in college hockey.  The conference includes St. Cloud State, North Dakota, Western Michigan, Denver (the defending National Champions), Miami, Minnesota Duluth, and Omaha.  Seven players from the NCHC have been named to the preliminary U.S. National Junior Team roster.  Colorado College has also proven to be a launching pad to a pro career, with nearly 40 former Tigers having played in the NHL.

Dom has long been a standout here at TM, but just recently blazed onto the national radar.  Things started to heat up after having to fill in for the U18 goaltenders at the AYHL playoffs last season while he was only 15.  Dom lead the team to the championship game on the back of his outstanding performance.  “It was incredible to see him come in and rise to the occasion,” Coach Ceransky stated, “It’s a big-time situation for a kid his age to have to deal with, but he handled it with grace.  Coaching Dominick again this year, I’m beginning to see why success seems to follow him…humble hard work.” 

Basse was also invited to Warren Strelow National Team Goaltending Camp which is a select camp made up of the top goaltenders in each age group eligible for international play.  He was also selected to attend the U15 National Camp and made the All-Star game.

Basse added: “I'm thankful to Team Maryland as an organization along with their coaches and my fellow players. Together, we have pushed each other so we can all advance, develop and move on to the next level.  I'm very fortunate to have such an amazing goalie partner in (Andrew) Tackas. Our partnership has allowed us both to grow, compete and elevate our game and the most fun I've had playing the game has been alongside him. I know we will be playing against each other one of these days in college.  I'm grateful to my goalie coach Jason Wolfe (Wolfe Hockey) for helping my family and I put together a plan and for all his time on the ice with me to get on the path to my dream of playing D1 hockey and beyond.  Finally, I have the most supporting family.  They have done so much for me.  The have driven countless hours to and from rinks.  I would not have been able to have the opportunities I have today without them, and I know they would do it all over again if they had to.”
