ECEL Announces 2018-19 All Star Game Venue!

Guilford, Conn., -  The East Coast Elite League (ECEL) announced today the date and location of the 2019 All-Star Games, which will be held January 11, 2019 at the prestigious Matthews Arena at Northeastern University. The League's All-Star Game will showcase the top players in the league at the 18U, 16U & 15U levels.   

The East Coast Elite League's (ECEL) 2019 All-Star Game will be the fourth time All-Star activities have taken place on the campus' of major universities.   In recent years, the East Coast Elite League has stopped at prestigious venues that include, Yale University's - Ingalls Rink & Harvard University's Bright-Landry Center.   

"We brought the ECEL All-Star Game to Northeastern University knowing that it would be successful," ECEL Commissioner, Peter Alden said. Matthews Arena has a ton of history and it is a fantastic location with great sports fans here in Boston. The players in our league strive to play hockey at the NCAA level, so there is no better place to showcase our league's All Stars."

Matthews Arena serves as the home to Northeastern University's Division I Men's and Women's ice hockey teams. Matthews Arena  is the oldest multi sport venue currently still in use in the world and is also the former venue for the Boston Bruins from 1924 until 1928.
