Guilford, Conn., - The East Coast Elite League is pleased to announce the addition of the Mount Academy Saints for the 2018-19 Season!
The Mount Academy Saints will field teams in the ECEL at the U16 level, becoming the second Canadian team to join the league (Hill Academy – Toronto, CAN). The program is led by Kenny MacDougall, the Head of School and Director of Hockey for Mount Academy. “The Mount Academy is thrilled to be accepted into the ECEL,” said MacDougall. “This partnership will allow our players to be participate in a league with US College exposure, high caliber competition, all in a very competitive environment.”
The Mount Academy is a private Academic Athletic university preparatory school that specializes in individual academic and athletic programming. It houses Bantam Male, U16 Male, and U16 Female Varsity hockey teams, and has been given the distinction of being certified as a Hockey Canada Sport School.
ECEL General Manager, Peter Alden, spoke about this expansion by saying, “Kenny MacDougall has been a pleasure to work with and he has the best interest in his players. Adding the Mount Academy from Prince Edward Island to the league is another great program that'll add more diversity and parity to the ECEL.”
