New Haven, CT - ECEL Hockey is pleased to announce that its 2018-19 season All-star game will be held on January 11, 2019 at the prestigious Matthews Arena at Northeastern University! The League's All-Star Game will showcase the top players in the league at the 18U, 16U & 15U levels.

The ECEL All-Star Event is set to begin late morning on Friday and is expected to be the most highly viewed event of the 2018-19 season.

“The All-Star game is a way for us to see the best players in our league on the ice at the same time, while the players themselves get to play against top competition,” said ECEL Commissioner, Peter Alden.

“We brought the ECEL All-Star Game to Northeastern University knowing that it would be successful," Alden added. “Matthews Arena has a ton of history and it is a fantastic location with great sports fans here in Boston. The players in our league strive to play hockey at the NCAA level, so there is no better place to showcase our league's All Stars."

Matthews Arena serves as the home to Northeastern University's Division I Men's and Women's ice hockey teams. Matthews Arena is the oldest multi-sport venue currently still in use in the world and is also the former venue for the Boston Bruins from 1924 until 1928.

With early game times on Friday morning, NCAA coaches in the surrounding areas are able to attend this event, making it very beneficial for our players who hope to play at higher levels.

The ECEL All-star games for 18U, 16U and 15U will be as follows:

15U at 8:30am

16U at 10:15am

18U at 12:15pm

Each game will consist of three (3) 15 minute periods.  Rosters will be announced shortly after the ECEL ALL Star Draft.
