Guilford, Conn., -  The East Coast Elite League (ECEL) is proud to announce that the New Jersey Devils will join our league for the upcoming 2019-2020 season!

The New Jersey Devils are in West Orange, NJ which gives us two teams out of New Jersey joining our league. They will join our league at the U16 level for the upcoming season. "To add a program with this much tradition we could not be more thrilled," said Peter Alden President of the ECEL.

Since its inception, the New Jersey Devils has produced players at a high level that went on to have success at the highest levels of hockey. The New Jersey Devils have produced 32 kids that have gone D1, eight of those were NHL Draft Picks including two first rounders Kevin Shattenkirk of the New York Rangers and Kyle Palmeri of the New Jersey Devils.

Next year could be a tremendous year for the NJ Devils program because of the special collection of talent advancing up the pipeline. The U16 group has the potential to make some history for the program. They are on track to be one of the best teams in the nation for the 2019-2020 season.

The Midget director is Jim Ellia, and the Program Director is John Dinorcia who have had success at many levels of youth hockey. These two individuals have had success particular at the Quebec Pee-Wee Tournament. Both of the individuals won the tournament in 2002 and reached the quarterfinals in 2003, 2009, 2011, and 2012.

Founded in 2013, the East Coast Elite League is a four-weekend showcase series that will provide maximum exposure for its member organizations and their players, by playing in top venues, in ideal scouting locations. Spread across the U15, U16, and U18 divisions and represented by several of the top hockey organizations across the country, the ECEL is the premier showcase series in the United States, unmatched in its format and exposure opportunities.
