Guilford, CT – The East Coast Elite Hockey League (ECEL) is excited to announce the addition of a new member, the Nassau County Lions, set to join the league for the upcoming season at the 16U Level. This marks an exciting new chapter for the ECEL as the league continues to grow and expand its reach, bringing premier hockey competition to the Northeast Region.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Nassau County Lions to the East Coast Elite Hockey League family,” said ECEL Commissioner Caroline Fitzgerald. “The team’s addition represents an exciting opportunity to expand our presence in New York and brings more top-tier hockey to the northeast. With a rich history of hockey in Long Island, we’re confident the Lions will quickly become an important part of the ECEL.”
The Nassau County Lions will be led by a dynamic coaching staff, including Head Coach Brian Smith, who is “looking forward to new competitive opportunities and a broader scope of opponents to compete against”. The team has already begun assembling a roster of talented players who will represent the proud community of Nassau County.
